3rd Expert Advisory Board Meeting in Innsbruck

The 3rd Expert Advisory Board Meeting within the CERREC Project was held on the 13th of March in Innsbruck, Austria as part of the proceedings of the 5th General Transnational Meeting (GTM) of the CERREC project partners. In addition to representatives from each of the project partners, experts representing businesses, research institutions and public authorities from each of the CERREC partner states attended the meeting.

Attitudes of Europeans towards resource efficiency

In 2011, EU Commission published a survey “Attitudes of Europeans towards resource efficiency”1 about EU citizens´ perceptions, attitudes and practices concerning resource efficiency, waste management and recycling. This study brought also very interesting conclusions about the perceptions of EU citizens of second-hand products and customers´ willingness to buy second-hand products.

The survey obtained interviews with national representative samples of EU citizens (aged 15 and older) living in the 27 Member States. In total, 27 164 interviews were conducted.

Re-use activities:

Report on re-use centre Ho&Ruck in Innsbruck

Within the 5th General Transnational Meeting of CERREC in Innsbruck the project partners and external experts have visited the work integration social enterprise (WISE) Ho&Ruck. Ho&Ruck was founded in 1984 aiming at bringing long-term unemployed people back to the first working market. Within a 1 001 m2 indoor-flea market „living dreams from second hand“ are sold. The range of products comprises of furniture, leisure equipment, small electronic equipment, and household effects. The main working field respectively the main stream of goods is coming from house or flat clearances or de-cluttering. The second stream is coming from direct donations from customers / citizens at the shop.

Re-use EVENT:

Invitation to Re-Use conference 2013 in Graz

On June 26th and 27th the Austrian Re-Use Conference 2013, organised by the ZERO WASTE AKADEMIE, will take place in Graz/Styria. The agenda of the first day “Re-use on the way towards a European success” addresses the process of practical re-use implementation in Europe. Experts from Belgium, Ireland, Germany and Austria will present their initiatives and activities aimed towards the promotion of a re-use society.

Invitation to Waste Fair in Rimini 11/2013

EcoMondo 2013
From the 6th till the 9th of November 2013, town of Rimini will be hosting the most significant platform of equipment and machinery for the treatment of all types of waste within EcoMondo 2013, the 17th international trade fair of material & energy recovery and sustainable development. CERREC will be present at EcoMondo – by organizing a conference on reuse and repair as a strategy to minimize waste production. Pilot actions activated within the project will be presented and discussed. CERREC stakeholders are invited to check the program of EcoMondo (http://en.ecomondo.com) and to attend the CERREC conference (date will be determined later on).

CERREC project meeting:

5th General Transnational Meeting in Innsbruck

Already the 5th CERREC project meeting took place in Innsbruck from the 13-14th of May 2013. The meeting was organised by the lead partner of the project CERREC – Waste Management Association Mid-Tyrol Ltd.

In addition to the familiar project issues, the GTM meeting was devoted to visiting a well run re-use centre in Innsbruck (Ho&Ruck) and also to meeting of Expert Advisory Board experts.
